(ALBANY, N.Y.) Credit recommendations for courses offered by Nassau County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Academy, an NCCRS member since 1996, have been extended for five years.  

This benefit provides an opportunity for students who successfully complete the Academy's evaluated courses to gain access to college credit to transfer toward degree programs offered by various colleges and universities nationwide.  

“NCCRS is proud to be able to provide this opportunity to Academy students who demonstrate the competencies, skills and passion needed to be successful while working in their profession and in college,” said Lisa Sax Mahoney, NCCRS director.

 NCCRS, founded in 1973, is a nonprofit program conducted by The University of the State of New York. NCCRS oversees academic evaluations of courses and proficiency examinations sponsored by noncollegiate organizations throughout the United States and overseas to determine comparability to college-level learning and instruction. NCCRS credit recommendations are posted on its website in the College Credit Recommendation Service (CCRS) Online directory at www.nationalccrs.org .
