Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: demonstrate comprehension and proficiency in the technical aspects of photographing with a digital camera and accompanying equipment; exhibit an understanding of photography as an art; demonstrate knowledge of the historic and contemporary photography trends; apply historic and contemporary photography trends within photographs; develop methods to visually represent the world in terms of aesthetics, emotional expression, and truths; develop and demonstrate creative expression through the selection composition, lighting, and texture of the photograph's subject; integrate technical and creative theory and practice to produce creative, professional photographs; exhibit computer skills to utilize the internet as a communication tool and to create a digital portfolio; utilize professional computer software to edit and enhance digital photographs; produce a digital portfolio consisting of the best photographs of all the course's projects; and demonstrate the ability to provide constructive criticism to peer designs.
