Learner Outcomes: 
To enable the police supervisor to apply management techniques, theories, and concepts in his/her work.
Instruction: 
Development of management theory and its application to the law enforcement function; consideration of the works of Blake, Mouton, McGregor, Maslow, Herzberg, and others; the behavioral science approach to management; A.M.A. Standards of Performance Program; techniques of problem-solving. The course includes the use of case studies and role-playing.
Credit recommendation: 
In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Personnel Management (10/76).
