Learner Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to understand the various components that make up a cloud environment, along with the best practices to implement those components in the cloud; discuss various cloud service models; explain how disk configuration and redundancy are implemented in the cloud; explain various storage technologies and how to implement them in the most efficient way; discuss different types of network configuration and how to optimize those networks; discuss the concept of virtualization, virtualization host, hypervisor, and virtual machines; explain the benefits of virtualization and learn how to migrate an organization's current environment to a virtual environment; discuss how to monitor the cloud environment using both local and remote tools; describe plan performance optimization in the cloud; describe implementation of policies and procedures as they pertain to a cloud environment; explain various tools needed to test and troubleshoot a cloud environment; explain how to secure network and data in a cloud environment; and describe the different options required to build a disaster recovery plan.

Instruction: 
The CompTIA Cloud+TM course is offered in traditional classroom format consisting of interactive lectures, demonstrations, proctored skills applications/lab activities, and proctored testing.
Credit recommendation: 
In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 2 semester hours in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Assurance, MIS, or Computer Security (6/14). *NOTE: Course numbers on transcripts may reflect different prefixes depending upon where a course is offered.
