Learner Outcomes: 

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: discuss the proper orientation of cross-sectional images; discuss the proper orientation of cross sectional images; locate each anatomical structure on CT, MR, and ultrasound images in the transverse axial, coronal, sagittal, and oblique cross-sectional imaging planes; identify routine, general anatomy of the cranium, thorax, and abdomen; identify sectional anatomy of the major muscles and bones; and describe the relationship of each structure to surrounding structures.

Instruction: 

Major topics include: sectional imaging; correlation of CT, MRI, and cadaver images; routine anatomy and sectional anatomy of the cranium, thorax, and abdomen; miscellaneous anatomy of the bones and major muscles.

Credit recommendation: 

In the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 1 semester hour in Allied Health Sciences or Radiography (10/03) (10/08 revalidation) (10/13 revalidation) (10/18 revalidation).
